School Rules

This is to notify the concerned students and guardians/parents that the School Management Committee has approved and accepted the following rules and regulations.

School Days
    
A.    The school hours are from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm only.
B.    Classes are run 5 days a week from Monday to Friday. Furthermore, there are classes on every second and fourth Sunday of each month.
C.    Regular school hours are as follows. Nursery from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm. Lower KG and Upper KG from 10:00 am to 3:10 pm, class I to class V from 9:30 am to 3:20 pm, class VI and above from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm.
D.    All the classes are run in English other than Nepali itself in school
E.    Singing, dancing, music, drawing, table tennis and basketball classes are run regularly.
F.    All students must enter school before the assembly bell and attend the assembly compulsorily.
G.    Parents are prohibited to take students home during class time as it results in disturbances in the regular learning-teaching process. In case of an emergency and other unavoidable circumstance, parents are requested to contact the school administration.


Holidays
    
A.    Generally there will be holidays as follows: Summer vacation – 7 days, Winter vacation – 21 days, Dashain holiday – 15 days, and Tihar holiday – 4 days.
B.    This school remains closed on government holidays.
C.    If any student cannot come to school on account of illness or due to other causes, an application must be sent stating the actual cause for absence. Those students who do not come to school for more than a week due to illness have to write an application to school along with the photocopy of the medical certificate.
D.    If any student is absent without notice his/her absence will be recorded


Examinations
    
A.    There will be mainly three examinations namely the Quarterly, Mid-term and Final Exams in school. Except these, some other additional examinations such as unit, monthly, and immediate tests will also be conducted.
B.    Students of all classes must get a minimum of 40 marks out of 100 to pass every subject.
C.    The notice of the Quarterly, Mid-term and Final Exams will be given to parents and students about one month earlier. And all the dues of school must be cleared off before any examinations as per the school rules. Otherwise, he/she will not be permitted to sit for the examinations. Usually, the Oral Exams of Nursery start one week before every exam.
D.    The answer copies of the Quarterly, Mid-term and Final Exams of students will be given back to them.
E.    Guardians can contact the school authorities for the mistakes detected in their children's answer copies within three days of the results out day. Necessary steps will be taken in this matter.
F.    If the pupil fails twice in the same class, s/he will be dismissed from school.
G.    Usually, those students who do not appear in the Quarterly and Mid-term Exams will not be allowed to sit for the Final Exams.
H.    Those students will not be promoted to a higher class who fail to attend the Final Exams and who practice cheating and unethical activities in the exams.
I.    There is no provision for the retest who fail to attend the Final Exams due to any sort of reasons.
J.    Every student must have at least 80 percent of attendance out of the total school attendance.
K.    Every year a student must attend the final exams and get at least 40 out of 100 in all subjects compulsorily to be promoted to a higher class. No student will be promoted who fails in one or more subjects.
L.    10% marks each will be carried over from the Quarterly and the Mid-term Examinations to the marks obtained in the Final Examinations.


Penalty and Expulsion
A student can be penalized and dismissed from school under the following conditions:
    
A.    Absenting from school for two months continuously without notice.
B.    Failing to pay the monthly tuition fees for two consecutive months without notice.
C.    Having an awful behaviour and conduct
D.    Failing to correct himself/herself after three warnings
E.    Breaking and disobeying the school rules and regulations repeatedly
F.    Exercising cheating and other unethical means in exams
G.    Using drugs and other alcoholic drinks
H.    Breaking and damaging the school belongings and properties


Encouragement and Awards
Students will be encouraged and awarded who show the overall best performance in the following areas:
    
A.    Among those students sitting for the S.L.C. Exams from this school, the first, second and third position holders will be awarded a medal, a letter of honour, and a cash prize of Rs. 5000/-, Rs. 3000/-, and Rs. 2000/- respectively as an honour.
B.    Likewise, among the S.L.C. examinees from this school, pupils who secure positions in the S.L.C. top ten list will be awarded Swarnim Excellence Medal, a letter of honour, and a cash prize of Rs. 10000/-. Also those who pass the S.L.C. Exams in the first division, will be given Swarnim Star Medal and a letter of honour.
C.    Prizes will be given to those students from each class who come out first, second and third in the Quarterly, Mid-term and Final Exams.
D.    Merits (+1, +2, +3) will be given to such students who are regular at homework, good at studies and active in extra curricular activities, but Demerits (-1, -2, -3) will be given to students who are careless in such above mentioned activities. Finally, 'Merit Prize' will be given to one student who gets the highest Merit from each class on the Final Exams prize distribution day
E.    Each year the overall best student among the students of class 10 will be conferred 'Swarnim Treasure' title and medal.
F.    The first, second, and third position holders in the spelling contest, handwriting competition, quiz contest, story and essay writing competition, public speaking competition, drawing competition, sports competition, poetry-recitation competition, etc. organized each year in this school will be distributed certificates, medals, and prizes.
G.    The tidiest and the most well-behaved student from Nursery to Upper KG will be given the 'Neatness + Conduct Prize' on the final results out day.


Scholarship
    
A.    A student of each class who stands first in the Final Exams will be given free-ship in which the monthly tuition fees will not be taken for the new academic session.
B.    Brilliant and economically poor students will be given scholarship in which the monthly tuition fees will not be charged.
C.    The student who gets the afore mentioned 'Swarnim Treasure' title and medal, will be entitled to free education for the next academic session.
D.    Those students who get free-ship have to pay all other fees as per the school rules except the monthly tuition fees.
E.    Those students who get free-ship will not be granted free-ship again if they are unsuccessful in the exams.
